ABSTRACTS DUE Friday April 22nd, 2022

We are pleased to announce that the 19th Annual Rheumatism Society of DC Fellows Forum’ will be a  HYBRID event this year with the live component on Friday, May 20th, 2022 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at  the Pooks Hill Marriott, Bethesda.  

The program will feature oral presentations from the top 4 selected abstracts and a poster viewing  period where members can vote on the best posters. That plus dinner! 

All successful applicants will be expected to attend the live event and present their posters in person.  

As in the past several years, we shall accept abstracts relevant to rheumatic disease in the following  categories: basic science research, clinical research, and clinical. A judging panel will choose the most  outstanding 4 research abstracts to be given as podium presentations, as well as a monetary award of  $250 each for the podium presenters. 

All applicants not selected for podium presentation will be asked to create a poster to be showcased at  the forum and a virtual poster for our remote attendees. During the poster viewing time, members  present will be provided score sheets to judge the posters for awards to be handed out later that  evening. Online poster viewing and judging will occur simultaneously. As in the past, a monetary award  of $100 will be given to the top 4 posters. 

Program Schedule

6:00-6:30pm: Poster placement  

6:30-7:30: Poster viewing and poster judging 

7:30-8:00: Dinner and introductory comments 

8:00-9:00: Podium Presentations and Awards 

Please forward this to your Fellows. The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is Friday April 22nd, 2022.  This will allow sufficient time for committee review and notification of the podium presenters. 

The limit for the abstract is 400 words, not including authors, title, or headers.  

Please use a structured format: Purpose/Methods (or Case Description)/Results (or Case  Discussion)/Conclusion (and Significance) One (1) Table or Figure is also allowed.  

NO MORE THAN 2 ABSTRACTS per FELLOW/RESIDENT/PhD/STUDENT  

Please submit completed COVER PAGE as well as Abstract Page(s)
